New for 2018: Ranger 2080MS Angler
Spacious redesign gives room for both serious angling and family outings
FLIPPIN, Ark. – Continuing its tradition of ever evolving innovation, Ranger® Boats introduces the all-new Ranger 2080MS Angler. The highly adaptable boat delivers more available horsepower for serious anglers along with a versatile and spacious layout to accommodate family outings.
“The new Ranger 2080MS Angler takes the proven 1880MS Angler to the next level with a larger footprint, more horsepower and greater fuel capacity for long runs during tournaments or extended days on the water with the family,” said Ranger Sales Manager Mark Zwicker. “We strive to improve our designs with the input of both tournament anglers and pleasure boaters. That influence is essential and shows up in a major way in the new 2080MS.”
The Ranger 2080MS Angler measures 20 feet, 7 inches, with a 100-inch beam. The boat is rated for 250 horsepower and available with a wide range of precision-matched, factory-rigged outboards. Designed for a variety of applications, the 2080MS Angler is at home in both southern bass fisheries and the big waters of the Great Lakes and upper Midwest.
The boat is designed to give serious anglers a dedicated fishing platform while retaining family-friendly features without compromise. Several fishing-specific features standout, including an all-new recessed trolling motor foot well at the bow, a first for the Angler Series. As with past 2080 iterations, the boat is highlighted by a huge center rod locker capable of storing rods up to eight feet in length, while a dedicated baitwell and insulated gel-coat cooler are situated in the front deck for quick access.
Rich with heritage, the 2080MS Angler includes many key features of Ranger’s popular Fisherman Series. This includes an enormous front casting deck and an oversized, recirculating livewell at the stern. In addition, the bow of the boat features a panel with tool holders, cup holder and integrated space to flush mount up to 12 inch electronics. A Minn Kota Power Drive trolling motor also comes standard and further highlights the bow.
The 2080MS Angler comes flush with features Ranger owners have come to expect: gas spring lid assists, lockable storage compartments, upright, level flotation, integrated bow navigation lights, pultruded fiberglass transom and fiberglass stringer system.
At the stern, two rear jump seats fold down to create a full casting deck outfitted with integrated rod holders at the transom. Ranger’s legendary reputation for fishability resonates in the 2080MS Angler, which features exclusive Rite-Track Keel® technology for easier trolling and tracking. Anglers and families alike will appreciate the stainless steel boarding ladder and premium all-weather upholstery for comfort in a variety of conditions. The upholstery is premium throughout and further complemented by color-matched side panels flanking each side of the spacious cockpit.
The versatile 2080MS Angler also provides the option for snap-in carpet in the cockpit area. The removable carpet gives boaters a comfortable day during a family outing, with the convenience of a textured fiberglass surface that can be left bare and easily cleaned after a long day of fishing.
Ranger is renowned for innovative ways to create additional storage for gear. The front deck houses two large storage compartments, accompanied by port and starboard sidewall storage. Additional rods up to nine feet in length can be stored in the port side gunnel of the cockpit while the passenger console folds down and accepts up to four bait boxes. Even more storage is available under the rear jump seats.
The new Ranger 2080MS Angler is factory equipped with a custom Ranger Trail® trailer designed and built specifically to fit the boat’s hull for solid and easy towing. The Road Armor Equipped® trailer offers L.E.D. lights, aluminum wheels, COOL Hub® lubrication system, torsion axle suspension and a locking, swing-away tongue with matching fiberglass fenders and a full-size spare. The durable Road Armor finish, designed to shield against rock chips, road debris and other hazards, helps retain higher resale value and peace of mind.
