Bethel University Anglers Qualify for Ranger Cup University Team of the Year Challenge
Teammates Floyd, McNeil will face qualifiers from FLW College Fishing National Championship
FLIPPIN, Ark. – Bethel University anglers Cole Floyd and Carter McNeil qualified for the 2019 Ranger Cup University Team of the Year Challenge with a win at the recent Boat U.S. Collegiate Bass Fishing Series National Championship. The duo also made history as the first ever back-to-back national champions in one of college fishing’s most prestigious events, hosted on Pickwick and Wilson Lakes.
Floyd and McNeil led after day one with a five-fish limit of 22.85 pounds, giving them the lead going into the final day. On day two, the team nearly matched their day one total by bringing in 22.80 pounds. Both bags were the heaviest for each day and gave the team the win by more than seven pounds.
For their efforts, the anglers won $5,000 and added $2,000 for qualifying for the Ranger Cup University Team of the Year Challenge. Teams competing in the Team of the Year Challenge receive a prize package that includes travel, lodging and meals, as well as the opportunity to compete on national television from fully rigged Ranger boats later this fall.
