Johnny Morris Named One of 400 Richest Americans
With a net worth of $3.8 billion, Bass Pro founder Johnny Morris is the 207th richest man in America, according to the The 2019 Forbes 400, generally recognized as the definitive list of wealth in America, profiling and ranking the country’s richest billionaires by their estimated net worths.
Morris came in at number 207 on the Forbes List with a net worth of $3.8 billion. Morris, 71, founded Bass Pro Shops in 1972 and has built it up to be one of the world’s largest outdoor retailers.
He is also the owner of the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium, which opened in 2017 at a cost of $290m, and the White River Marine Group, maker of leading boat brands that includes Tracker, Nitro and Tahoe.
In 2017 Bass Pro Shops paid nearly $5 billion to acquire Cabela’s, its biggest rival.
